drumroll and can i have the envelope. please.

I'm going to be brutally honest with you here, friends. Seeing this photo makes my heart sink. Just a little. That's not a lot of clothing for an entire month. And I feel like I'm getting too old and tossing my too few remaining braincells at things like deciding what's for dinner and what IS 7 minus 3. Looking at this, I just don't know if I have it in me! Okay, fine, I do. I'm stubborn enough that once I decide to do something, that's it. But it may not be the prettiest thing you've ever seen, come Day 23. Or, let's be honest, Day 16...9? Yeah, probably 9.

But, aside from that little melodramatic monologue, let the fun begin! Here's what I'll be adorning myself in over the next 30 days:

5 pairs of shoes (brown boots, taupe booties, black wedge sandals, navy flats, metallic flats)
3 pairs of pants (AAAH! is this even enough?!?! no, probably not. but I'll live and learn) (oh. heh heh. here's what they are: dark skinnies, light denim boyfriend jeans, and wide leg navy pinstripes pants)
4 skirts (khaki, denim, and black pinstripe pencil skirts, and a reversible a-line skirt. hello 2-for-1. beautiful.)
1 dress (white with black pinstripes) (what the what about all the pinstripes going on around here? crap...)
10 shirts (navy blouse, red polka dot silky, royal blue ruffley, mustard cowl neck, blue floral, white tuxedo, black button-up, random red print, grey and pink striped henly, and lavendar pinstripe [aaughh!] button-up)
2 jackets (black blazer, olive jacket)
5 sweaters (green long-sleeve, grey cardigan, greenish cardigan, ivory cardigan, b&w striped sweater)

There you have it, folks. Let the fun begin. Only by "fun" I mean "self-punishment."

Happy Monday Night.

p.s. Can someone who's done this before please give me a heads-up of what to expect over the course of the next 5 weeks? When, if ever, is it hardest? When do you usually start feeling a little like, "okaaaay, I've worn THIS about 8 bajillion times now..."? Or is it simply fun-and-games?

You'll be ok. I promise :) For me the hardest part was not shopping, mostly for more accessories b/c I learned REAL quick that that's the way to make variety work in your favor. I say just don't be afraid to mix and match things you NEVER would've before and you'll prolly be pleasantly surprised at the results!

Can't wait to get started :)

I did the 30 for 30 in November and my thoughts on the process are here.

I felt kind of in a rut but you are so creative so I suspect you will be able to find a lot more variation than I did. It will be fun to see what you wear.

How fun - you'll have a blast! I'm doing a 10 items for a week challenge in two weeks, but I've never done the 30 for 30.

Thank you so much for commenting on my blog!

Cheers,
Sheila

You can do it! You just have to keep going and keep remixing. Not shopping is hard, but it is so rewarding in the end!

I will be right with you hunny! We can support eachother from day 9 on! LOL This will be my first time doing the 30/30 too, so I am really excited to see what I can do with what I already have!

Aww, you will be okay Brittney...just remember it is just a challenge and have fun!!! Since I am a newbie too we can help each other out. Good LUCK!

Awwwww sweetie! I think that having fewer items to choose from has actually made me feel less stressed. Have you tried making 30+ outfits yet? If you just type out a list or something and KNOW you've got the outfits, those hard days will be easier because you can just refer to your list.

The good news is this: This is for fun. If it's not working for you, there is no shame in quitting and none of us will judge you in the least little bit. So don't feel pressured. Just give it a whirl and see how it goes. Good luck!

Your numbers seem just fine. I had 3 pants last time and it was plenty. I was fine until about the last week. Things were looking a little dim. I just mustered my very last bit of creativity and managed to finish with flying colors (because I was mixing all sorts of things by the end). You might be surprised. Some of your most desperate outfits turn out to be your best. Good luck with the challenge.

I'm a little worried myself, but we'll get through it! I am fully prepared to look like a crazy person by day 16. Oh wait, I already was told I look crazy yesterday....shoot.

I love the dots! I thought about what you said about wondering what we might expect going through this. I was like, yeah, sounds like fun, sign me up, and I had never even posted an outfit yet. At least we are all in this together! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment.

You'll be great, obviously (since you're already 3 days in)! When I did this in November, I definitely had the hardest time from about days 15-25 ... that's when I felt like I was in a rut. The beginning was fun, and near the end I realized how much I still had left to remix! Good luck!
