Doing this 30x30 challenge was fabulous. MVPs were the boots and the dark skinnies...annnd probably that grey cardigan. I haven't taken an official tally, but I'm pretty sure those items earned their keep. And I learned some stuff, too, but before I share: don't make fun of me. Most of you probably know these things already. I'm a slow learner, okay?
(ahem) I learned:
1. Texture is just as interesting and important as color. I need more variety of textured items in my life.
2. I love wearing pencil skirts, but they just don't work for me every day. Sometimes I had to force it (like when I'd worn my jeans for the past two days). So I learned that I need to modify my Mom-style. Not like I'm on the fast-track to elastic pantswear, but I do need to be practical in what I choose to wear.
3. Dark jeans are a necessary part of a wardrobe.
4. I don't actually need a ton of clothes, which is ironic because that's been my mindset for the past 30 years (I've always tried to get more for cheaper...not fewer but better). I have lots more ideas to mix these items--I never actually felt like, "I have nothing to wear." My biggest challenge was keeping up with laundry. Heh.
5. Sometimes I make style choices for the purpose of this blog--adding or doing something that will make an ensemble more interesting. It's subconscious, I think, because I'll find myself switching those things out about halfway through my day because they just aren't "me." But I think that's part of my personal style journey, which happeno be documented here for all the world (yep) to see, so I'm not ashamed to admit it. I will say, though, that I'm definitely figuring out my own style and am trying to stay true to that...even if it makes for a dull post. Probably I'm just a dull person at heart. Excuse me for a sec, I'm off to sip some flat 7Up...
6. I actually prefer having fewer clothing options. I think the closet purge will continue.
7. I learned to love items that I didn't much like previously. Like that olive jacket and the black pencil skirt. And, to be honest, the reversible skirt. Weird, huh? Because I think those items are the ones that just "worked" the best.
Welp, that's it. That's all I learned. And if it isn't and I just forgot to type something in here, then I guess that little tidbit will remain mine and mine alone. Mostly because it was obviously not worth mentioning in the first place.
My personal favorites are Days 1, 10, and 27. (And maybe 18 and 29, but that's just getting vain.) Ones I wish I could erase are Days 16 and 24. Ugh.
Happy Friday!

I think it was most fun to find out I do love some wardrobe items I had previously thought about getting rid of!
Thanks for stopping by our blog!

Since I just joined your blog this week, it was so fun to read this post and catch up with what you've done. My fave days - 27, 5 and 11. Can't wait to see what you do next!
Hi Brittney! I heart your blog! Just a heads up, today I featured your blog on mine! Looks like I picked an excellent day to do so!

I love Day 10 too! I'd copy that exactly in a heartbeat! =) I can't wait to try the next 30x30... I think the hardest part will be trying to get decent pictures every day! lol
I also just finished this challenge!so happy that I am not limited any more:)kiss from Prague!
I think your remix went fantastically well! I loved every single one of your outfits, and you put into words everything that I feel about the remix and more!
I think it's a lot easier to get dressed with fewer options - and the laundry is the hard part!
Can't wait to see your post remix outfits!

Congrats on finishing! I still have 2 more outfits to go. I'm worn out and excited to be done! Haha :) I love all your style choices.
Wow, this challenge has always seemed intimidating because I think I'd repeat too much, but looking at your outfits you have a cool variety and I love the way you mixed and matched different pieces. It's true, sometimes less is more!
Hi Brittney! This recap of your 30x30 remix journey was great! We have nominated you for a Stylish Blogger Award. You can 'collect' it at our page. Very much enjoyed seeing what you were wearing every day and can't wait to see more ;)

I prefer the smaller closet options, too. Really nice to have a tiny pile in the middle of my floor to grab outfits from. And melodramatically collapse into at the end of a long day.
#26 FTW!
Oh my so many wonderful outfits it is hard to pick my favorites! I definitely LOVE 3,6,8,10, 13,22 and 30! And so many lovelies in between.
I totally know what you mean about trying to add things to an outfit to make it a more "blog worthy" ensemble, but I think showing our readers what we are really like on a day in day out basis is much more important that making sure everything we showcase on our pages would meet the approval of a high fashion editorial spread. You know?
You and all your outfits are adorable! Congrats on being finished with the challenge. I've got one day left! Woohoo!
You did so great You never had a blah day. You looked great everyday.
Write it in lipstick
Awesome! Congrats on a fantastic 30!!!
Congrats on finishing the challenge! When looking through your outfits, I'd swear that you had more than 30 items in there, that's how well you remixed. Very impressive :)
My favorites are numbers 6 and 25. Fabulous!
And I know what you mean about trying to spice things up for blog purposes...I feel like I've added something that doesn't necessarily fit with my 'style' just because I think my pictures will be boring that day. Probably something I need to stop :)
i am totally impressed with your 30 looks!!! very well styled! and i agree with black pencil skirts, they're a staple.
funny....I picked out my faves before I read your post, and I picked 10 and 27! {but truly? you looked darling every day. Well done!}
You really created beautiful and unique outfits. If I didn't know that you were doing the 30x30, I never would have even noticed. You were def my fave to watch this time around.
I love how comprehensive your "learned" list is! Girl, you learned a lot. I loved your last look, like, a lot. And I think you're onto something with that less-is-more gig. ;)
You have the cutest style! Great remix!!! And I really love how you incorporated colored tights into your looks, so fun! :) Newest follower! So glad I found you!
My fave is #15. Way to go girl! I don't have any desire to do this project although, I do wear the same jeans every single day & the same 7 t-shirts over & over. Maybe I do do it & don't realize it. (did I just say do-do?)
You are just too cute!!! I especially love looks 1-5, 21, 29 and 30.
